A Verics® enabled CHECKPOINT device is mounted on each light fixture. Neighboring CHECKPOINTS (CP) up to ~1,000 feet apart communicate with each other via wireless and form a cluster of lights.
Each cluster of up to 500+ lights automatically finds and then associate themselves with a local ACCESSPOINT (AP) which communicates with the Telemics® central server located in Louisville. This connection can be via an on board wireless cellular modem or alternatively via a Broadband over power line or one of the other connection options that are available.
The data on the secure server is accessed by the end user using their existing laptop or desktop computer. All that is required is an INTERNET CONNECTION and MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER web browser version 5.0 or later.
Thus all that is required to deploy and operate a Verics® network are the five system elements:
- CHECKPOINTS
- ACCESSPOINTS
- LAPTOP/DESKTOP PC
- INTERNET EXPLORER WEB BROWSER
- INTERNET ACCESS
